Lucy has worked with several choirs over the years and combines her boundless energy with inclusive leadership to create spaces where everyone feels welcome to use their voice. She consistently provides her choirs with new original materials which she aims to make available for others in the coming months.
Bentworth Sings
Lucy is due to take the helm of the new Bentworth Sings Community Choir in December 2026 with their first festive taster session on 8th December 2026.
West SAYS
Lucy currently leads West Surrey Arts Young Singers (West SAYS) for young people aged 7-12 on behalf of Surrey Arts (Surrey County Council). Further details can be found here:https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/culture-and-leisure/arts/music/ensembles/young-singers-west
The choir appeared at Choir Blast Festival in 2025 alongside North SAYS, and in 2026 alongside North SAYS and Surrey Youth Choir. During these performances students performed original songs written and arranged by Lucy – “Music Lives Within Us (In Our Soul)” (Round) (2025) and “Summer’s Coming” (Round) and “Summer Sound” (SATB) (2026) – alongside other pieces.
Just So Singers
Just So Singers was the flagship additional needs choir for Surrey Arts for 20 years. Lucy began working with this choir in 2019. Based in Phillip Southcote School and led by Caroline Pearce, the choir shortly transferred to Zoom during the Covid-19 Pandemic, providing a musical lifeline for many families during this isolating period. The group consisted of young people age 8-25 with a variety of needs and used both Makaton (Lucy holds a Level 2 Qualification in Makaton) and voice, plus accessible applications such as Thumb Jam to support non-verbal students to share their voices. Caroline mentored Lucy from a support role in to joint leadership, also bringing in Lucy’s songwriting skills to create original music for the group. Lucy believes this is one of the most profoundly impactful pieces of work she has done, with the young people teaching her so much about being an inclusive, creative leader.
Godalming College Contemporary Choir
Lucy was delighted to be asked to work with Godalming College to work with their A Level students over 2 terms. In addition to sourced material, she used her own arrangements and wrote an original composition (‘Wildflowers (In The Midwinter)’ to support the choir performing in a Winter concert, raising money for a local foundation.
Guildford Vox
Lucy was grateful to be a committee member and singer in community choir Guildford Vox led by Anna Tabbush. In Summer 2025 she guest conducted the choir at their performance for Choir Blast where they performed several of Anna’s arrangements, as well as an original SATB composition ‘A Change Is Gonna Break’ (2025) by Lucy. Though she is now unable to continue singing with the choir due to other commitments, Lucy would encourage any adult wanting to join a welcoming community choir to go along on Monday evenings in Guildford. She also highly recommends singing workshops led by Anna and can be often found attending them herself.
